A La Carde was originally created 15 years ago. In June 1998 the Company was taken over by an entrepreneurial management team which included successful backgrounds in media, publishing and advertising with proven track records in international brand development.

From 1999 to 2005 the Company set about a radical re-positioning exercise by re-focussing the corporate offering to provide an exclusive marketing opportunity to brands of excellence in the luxury goods and services, and retail sector.

In line with this strategy A la Carde became an associate member of the international hotel management and concierge organisation of The Golden Keys. As a result of this association the A La Carde Collection became an intrinsic part of the concierge service in many of the world's top hotels and hotel groups. Due to the broadening of the portfolio A La Carde Limited has created ALC Global, to reflect the Company's strategic international aspirations.

After a lengthy research programme the Company took the decision to begin a Global expansion into emerging markets to compliment their networks offerings in the UK and the UAE. In 2005 the A La Carde China Collection was launched and now has some 200 displays across leading hotels in Shanghai, Beijing and Dalian. Further expansion is being prepared to cover 6 to 8 cities including Hong Kong and Macau, giving A La Carde a China-wide presence. Initial studies are underway with a view to carry out a similar exercise in India and Russia.

Today the A La Carde Collection comprise many of the world's most prestige and influential brands in haute couture and fashion, jewellery and fine art, property and services. All contributing to the A La Carde 'three A' ethos of:
